Buoy Cottage #8 at Explore Acadia Cottages

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Explore Acadia’s Buoy Cottage. This was our first trip to MDI and Acadia and our family can’t think of a better place to have stayed! It was a clean, comfortable home away from home for our family of five (kids aged 18, 14, 11). The cottage itself had everything we needed and then some. The attention to detail in every way was above expectations, the screened in porch was an amazing place to rest and nap, in-cottage laundry was invaluable to us, and local recommendations and small touches show how much they care here. Location was perfect for day trips to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Frequent travelers, I tend to overthink and over research what will meet our needs as a family. There’s truly nothing that could have given us a better place to stay on this trip. I’d highly recommend this spot for anyone traveling to the area.

Great little cabin stocked with all of the essentials! Location near Bar Harbor was great, the kitchen is well stocked for some easy cooking, and the screened-in porch was super pleasant for just listening to the leaves rustle in the wind. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was so clean and truly felt like a home away from home. Thank you for being such generous and accommodating hosts. The location was also incredibly convenient and close to everything, which made exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor so easy. We especially loved the enclosed porch, it was such a cozy spot to relax while taking in the calming, peaceful scenery and listening to the birds. Our kids absolutely loved all the games — it actually kept them off their tablets, which was a huge win for us! We made some wonderful family memories here. Thank you again for sharing this hidden gem with us. We hope future guests appreciate and care for it as much as we did.

The cottage was the best! Everything spotless and in perfect condition.
