Loon Song Cottage #5 at Explore Acadia Cottages

We were cozy in this little cottage but it was perfect for our family of 4. Way nicer than camping but it had a camping feel to it. We stayed end of May / first of June. The location is great for the time of year we were there. We had no issues going anywhere and were less than 15 minutes to anything in Acadia or Bar Harbor. I found it to be way nicer and a much better value than the STR’s we compared. There are several “cottage” options along the highway. These appear larger than most, but the most appealing thing to me is these are also a decent distance off the road. Many other options seem to be too close to the road for my taste.

We travel all over the US. We leave few reviews as most places are "good enough", but nothing you'd write home about. Welp, we'd like to write home about this place. We're not going to write much about Acadia, but it's one of the most beautiful parks we've been to, and the hosts have great information on what attractions to go to ... and when! But let's get into the cottages and the location! My wife and I couldn't have had a better spot. It's at the perfect spot to go to the parks and then sit back home after a great day of hiking. If you want crowd and noise, this is not the place for you :-) Bar Harbor has lots of places to visit, but we enjoyed staying at the cottages so much, we made and ate each dinner at the cottage. They had everything you needed, and it was a nice break after all the physical activity at the park. If you want a convenient, affordable, quiet place to stay, with informed hosts, we recommend you try this place!

Loon Song Cabin was a quaint, clean cabin with thoughtful amenities. Loved that there were hosts on site to support and answer questions one may have. The cabin itself was perfectly located - close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Also conveniently located on a bus shuttle route. Highly recommended to anybody looking for a place to stay near Acadia!

The cottage and grounds were impeccable and comfortable. Truly felt like a home away from home.
